Weddings and Receptions

I document weddings in a photojournalistic style. I capture the event rather than create it – meaning that the images are a faithful preservation of what it felt and looked like to be there. You and your guests will relive the memories through pictures that are candid and honest rather than contrived or overly stylized.

There is space for all kinds of wedding photography and I can appreciate stylized shoots, the skills of the photographers who have great artistic direction and the more commercial looking results those elements create. That is not my style however. What you get with me is an insider’s view of your day.

I use little to no flash because I want to disappear into the background as much as possible. My pictures tell the story and can include any details you want from the bride getting ready to the details of the venue, how the guests reacted, what the light and mood was, and much more. Instead of thousands of words, here are less than 10% of the images from one reception:

The images in the gallery above are at 30% resolution. As you can see, there is scope for some posed portraits and some group shots as well. Here are a few more examples from another a ceremony/reception, this time in very low light. Again, little to no flash used. You can read more about why I prefer this here.

An Example Wedding Package:

Typically, I provide five hours of coverage and I deliver 200+ unique edited images telling the story. Final images are digital versions only (no prints). The price for this sort of coverage starts at $1,500. The number of images and the price can vary a lot. For example, a ceremony and reception at a single venue will cost less than separate venues for each. I can make prints for you for an additional cost. Your date is booked and secured with a $500 deposit and the balance is due when I deliver the final images (a week or two after the event). Prints, albums and photobooks, are optional extras. We can discuss those if you want them. I include a full print release in the package so you are welcome to make your own prints as you wish and I would be happy to advise you on where to do that. The images are delivered on a flash drive containing two folders: One folder with full resolution images optimized for printing and a second folder with images small enough to share/post online.
